Quick answer

Mich Barn builds stall barns, riding arenas, shops and machine sheds throughout Lapeer County — Metamora, Dryden, Almont, Imlay City, Lapeer and Hadley. Lapeer carries 1,426 horses across 210 farms and 1,050 farms overall. We are about 75 minutes northeast, and travel is quoted up front rather than added later.

The Metamora–Hadley–Dryden triangle is serious equestrian country — established properties, real riding programs, and owners who know the difference between a barn built for horses and a garage with stalls in it. Ventilation, drainage, stall-front airflow, and clear-span arena width without posts in the riding line are the things that actually matter here, and they are the things a general contractor most often gets wrong.

North and east of Lapeer the work shifts agricultural — 1,050 farms in the county overall — and the ask becomes equipment storage and commodity buildings.

Pole barns in Lapeer County — common questions

Do you build horse barns in Metamora and Dryden?

Yes — the Metamora–Hadley–Dryden area is one of Michigan's established equestrian markets and it is a large share of what we build in Lapeer County. Stall barns, run-in sheds, and clear-span indoor arenas at 60 feet and wider.

How wide does a riding arena need to be?

Sixty feet is the practical minimum for a working arena; 70 to 80 feet is comfortable for riding and lunging. Post-frame handles those spans clear, with no columns in the riding line — which is the main reason it dominates Michigan equestrian construction.

Is Lapeer County too far for Mich Barn?

No. It is about 75 minutes from our Brighton shop. For a barn or arena, travel is a small fraction of the project and it is a line item in the quote so you can see exactly what it costs.
