How much does a 30x40 pole barn garage cost in Michigan?
A 30x40 post-frame garage shell in Michigan typically runs $22,000–$46,000 built in 2026, depending on sidewall height, door package, and site conditions. A concrete floor adds roughly $8,400–$18,000 at $7–$15 per square foot, and insulation about $4,800 or more.
What sidewall height do I need for a car lift?
Plan on 14-foot sidewalls for a standard two-post lift, which gives you room for the lift, a vehicle on it, and clearance above. 12 feet is tight and 16 feet is what you want if an RV is going in the same building.
Can a pole barn garage be attached to my house?
Usually we build detached — that is where post-frame's cost advantage is biggest. If you want an attached garage that matches your home's exterior brick-for-brick, stick-built is often the better call, and we will tell you so.
Will my subdivision allow a pole barn?
Some subdivisions restrict metal siding or detached outbuildings in their covenants — check before you plan. Acreage properties and rural parcels in Livingston County almost never have an issue. We can review the township zoning with you at the site consultation.
