What sidewall height do I need for a machine shed?
16 feet is the practical starting point for modern equipment; 18 feet is common if a combine or a tall sprayer goes inside. Measure your tallest machine with the tallest attachment raised, then add clearance — this is the spec people most often regret going cheap on.
How do I stop condensation in a metal farm building?
Condensation control comes from a vapor barrier or condensation-control roof liner plus adequate ridge and soffit ventilation. In Michigan's humidity swings this is not optional on hay or livestock buildings — wet hay and wet bedding both start here.
Are farm buildings exempt from building permits in Michigan?
Some genuinely agricultural structures qualify for exemptions under Michigan code, but the rules are specific and your township still governs zoning and setbacks. Do not assume — we check it as part of the site consultation.
